Today my youngest daughter turns 17. At the restaurant, the waiter asked if she would like her drink “‘with alcohol”. I figure if I’m not there she’s probably getting it “with alcohol”.
We had a great time at dinner-so many great conversations. I’m so excited to share with her my plans and fears and she can do the same with her life. I’m also very excited for her and what is to come. She’s got some great ideas on life and how to live it. It will be interesting to see how that all works out.
I could make this post about how fast kids grow up and wanting it all to slow down. But, I’ve never been a slow it down sort of person. And most likely one day, I will be like that. But today I am still looking forward to seeing how all this turns out-how it turns out for my girls. I’m excited for them and all that life holds for them-I can’t wait to find out! Watching them become the unique girls they are has been one of the luckiest things I have been able to experience.
Also, we shared the sampler dessert. We could not finish it. And really, we tried. Like mother, like daughter.
