sunshine, etc

So I have a confession.  A couple weeks ago, it got really windy here.  Like really windy.  Like hurricane/tornado windy.

Jenna and I were hunkering down in the apartment and mostly ignoring the wind.  Then I head a loud noise.  So I asked Jenna to check it out.  She went on the deck, and had a curious look.  She came back in and asked what I did with all the furniture.

This is what it looked like before:

So nice.

So, it turns out, the wind came and picked up ALL OF THAT FURNITURE INCLUDING THE 10x20ft RUG and tossed it off the deck.  Off the 16th floor.  Insert that shocked face emoji here.

So after scouring from above and not seeing a)ambulance b)police c)dead person; we went downstairs to see if we could find it.  We found the 2 chairs piled up in a corner by the garage door ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUILDING.  They look like wicker, but they are very heavy and metal.  And now very bent.  Jenna had the good idea to check on the patio of our common room- she found the bench.  It was also in terrible condition.  Like, you can still sit in it, but only 3 of the legs are on the ground at any given time.

STILL MISSING-the rug.  Like really, where did it go?  We are not really asking around, because, well, liability.  My thoughts are that a homeless person hit the jackpot.

Here’s what it looks like now, so sad:

sorry after pic

But that windstorm passed and hopefully we are done those for a while.  Yesterday I sat on my part of the patio in the sunshine and worked on my course and got a tan.  I could feel my Vitamin D stores building by the minute.

Also, last night I went to the movie Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with Tina Fey.  I had relatively low expectations and it blew them out of the water.  It was quite funny and informative.  So if you’re bored or something, go see it.

If you’re ever in Victoria, keep an eye out for my rug.  I miss it.

Similar episode to your “Experience” at Big Valley Jamboree when your “ever-so-special” cowboy hat was blown to Saskatchewan. Though, you did manage to snag a better on as it grew by.

Well Kerri you never cease to AMAZE me. In the past hour I have cried (ugly cry), and then laughed out loud (so loud uncle Louie came running and asked what the heck). You may recall me mentioning that I had fallen behind on your blogs – well actually it was the “remembering dad” blog that stopped me in my tracks – I knew it was going to be hard to read (and it was but then it was also so well written) – well I spent the past hour catching up and as usual have thoroughly enjoyed myself – kind of like going to one of those movies where you come out saying “that was good, I wouldn’t mind watching that again”. Well good luck finding that carpet ? and keep the blogs a coming.
