happy 19th maddie

By on April 26, 2016

19 years ago today at 4:30pm I thought shit was going down.  I was in labour and Kelly was outside cleaning the BBQ.

We headed into the hospital and found out I was indeed in labour and about 4 cms dilated.  I called my mom and dad and they were on their way to Jackfish Lake for Rita Wowks birthday party.

At just after midnight my little girl came into the world.  I was unable to let her grandparents know as there is no service at the party.  They did not start out being grandparents waiting by the phone.  They started out partying.

Madison the definition of yin-yang.  She is the absolute sweetest girl and then she is the absolute not sweetest girl.  She is soft with her feelings and her emotions, but if you are on the other team-I’m sorry for you.  She likes to play rough and she loves babies and kids the most.

She is tough and resourceful.  She will get a job done somehow and most likely will not complain about it.  You want this girl on your team.

She loves her family and spending time with all of us.

At the moment, Maddie is taking her EMT course and looks forward to saving lives and making a difference in the world.  I’m so proud of her!

Hope being 19 is full of lots of rugby games, no injuries and a plethora of laughs and smiles.  Love you lots Maddie!

First paycheck from Grampa after she painted the green shed and his ladder. He never got over the ladder part. Lol

Awesome post Kerri! I remember that special day very well (when Maddie was born) and how excited I was to hold my first granddaughter in my arms for the very first time when we got to Calgary the next day. We have always had a very special connection from that day forward.

I had an awesome time with Maddie yesterday hanging out with her to celebrate her 19th birthday. We always have lots to talk about.

Tomorrow I will go celebrate with Rita again as she turns 79 (she would have been turning 60 the year Maddie was born).

I certainly see similarities in these two ladies. They are both born under the sign of Taurus the Bull which reflects power and strength. But, they can also be very gentle and tender in their nature.

I am blessed to have both of them in my life.
