DYE-VL Vascular Lesion Treatment

A targeted, light-based treatment used to address appropriate superficial vascular concerns such as visible vessels and facial redness, for a clearer, more even-looking complexion.

Overview

Targeted treatment for visible vascular concerns

DYE-VL is a light-based treatment used to address appropriate superficial vascular concerns such as visible vessels and facial redness.

Small blood vessels sitting close to the surface of the skin can become more visible over time, contributing to facial redness, vascular discoloration, and fine threadlike vessels across the nose, cheeks, and chin. These changes are common and are influenced by genetics, sun exposure, and skin sensitivity.

DYE-VL delivers a narrow, precisely filtered band of light energy designed to be absorbed by hemoglobin within targeted visible vascular structures. Because the light is filtered so specifically, surrounding skin absorbs comparatively little energy.

Concerns that may be addressed, when clinically appropriate, include visible facial blood vessels, telangiectasia, spider veins, facial redness, vascular discoloration, and the visible redness associated with rosacea. Suitability is always determined through consultation.

Every plan is personalized. Your skin characteristics, medical history, the concern being treated, and your goals guide the settings selected and the approach recommended at Kërfree Aesthetics in Santa Barbara.

Benefits

Benefits of DYE-VL treatment

Targeted Vascular Treatment

Light energy is designed to target hemoglobin within appropriate superficial vascular structures, so treatment can be directed at the vessels of concern.

Clearer, More Even-Looking Skin

Addressing unwanted visible vessels and vascular redness may help create a clearer, more balanced-looking complexion over time.

Personalized Treatment

Settings and recommendations can be tailored to the individual concern, treatment area, skin characteristics, and treatment goals.

Skin Type

DYE-VL, Pigmentation & Your Skin Type

DYE-VL suits some patients well and is not the right tool for others. Here is how candidacy is decided.

Good candidates usually come in with visible facial vessels, persistent flushing, or vascular discoloration that sits close to the surface. Alma indicates DYE-VL for Fitzpatrick skin types I–IV, so that classification is part of the conversation from the start.

Beyond skin type, the vessels themselves matter. Fine superficial vessels tend to respond better than larger or deeper ones, and diffuse redness usually takes a series rather than a single session. Recent sun exposure, active skin conditions, and certain medications can also push treatment to a later date.

Patients outside those indications are not left without options. Kerri treats a broad range of complexions and, when DYE-VL is not the right technology for someone's skin, she will point toward what is.

Results

What to expect

DYE-VL is a non-surgical, light-based treatment delivered as targeted pulses of light across the area being addressed.

Treatment settings are selected according to your skin and the concern being treated, and treatment time can vary depending on the size and location of the area.

Temporary redness, warmth, or other short-term skin changes may occur afterward, and treated vessels can look darker before they begin to fade. Many people are able to resume normal activities relatively quickly, though individual responses differ.

Some concerns respond progressively and may benefit from more than one session spaced several weeks apart. Sun protection and avoiding heat for a short period afterward are typically advised.

Because tendencies toward flushing and new vessel formation can persist, periodic maintenance may be discussed as part of a longer-term plan.
